Compensation: $17.00/hr
Experience:
•3 year minimum wire EDM experience (operation, programming, troubleshooting, setup)
•Past experience with Mitsubishi wire EDM systems is a plus
•Experience working in ISO-9001/13485 is a plus
Language: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English 100%.Education: Must have a diploma/GED.
A metal stamping business is looking for a EDM Wire Machine Operator/Programmer. Must be familiar with a Mitsubishi EDM Machine. Applicants must be able to read blueprints, be proficient in the use of precision measuring tools, able to demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and have basic computer skills. Must be familiar with electronic removal of metals machine by electrode. Ability to machine electrodes to shape as required. The Set-up/Operator/Programmer working in this position will be directly responsible for the setup, changeover, maintenance, programming and general advancement of the wire EDM cell. It requires the practical application of good manufacturing practices and organizational skills. The ideal candidate possesses strong CNC wire EDM skills, programming and an aptitude for hands-on problem solving.
The successful candidate must be an experienced Wire EDM Operator with a strong background operating mills, lathes, grinders and drills. All employees must be able to work any shift.
Will be operating a Mitsubishi wire EDM machine, while maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment, and supplies. Plan machining by studying blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications. Perform duties to set up, operate and repair wire EDM equipment. Plan, construct, alter and repair wide variety of dies and tools. Work from wire EDM programs, equipment manuals, prints, work orders and instructions. Write, modify, edit and troubleshoot wire EDM programs as required. Work with die makers, engineering personnel and operators to coordinate machining of work pieces. Set up equipment using common hand tools.
Working knowledge of Mastercam software and stamping Die theory desired Qualifications for this position is a person with at least 3 yrs. of proven experience in design and auto cad programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Setup and changeover production / development wire EDM jobs
•Perform preventative and / or emergency maintenance within the wire EDM cell
•Program new wire EDM jobs and optimize / modify existing ones as necessary
•Suggest / implement enhancements to the cell to reduce cycle / lead times and costs
•Troubleshoot program and equipment issues
•Interact with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics and HR as required
•Adhere to company procedures / quality standards and ensure compliance to customer specifications and applicable external regulations (ex: OSHA, FDA).

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands, arms, use of fingers to handle or feel boxes and hand tools. Must be able to lift up to 50 to 60 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate-loud.
